An elliptical trainer or cross-trainer is a stationary exercise machine used to simulate stair climbing, walking, or running without causing excessive pressure to the joints, hence decreasing the risk of impact injuries. For this reason, people with some injuries are able to use an elliptical to stay fit, as the low impact affects them little.

because i’ve got a challenge with my knee, i must switch using elliptical machine. but later i discovered that actually work on elliptical machine for 25 minutes is actually way more difficult than running twenty minutes. my heartbeats raise so quick throughout by using their machine.
i figured i would explode, really.
i wish to have the ability to exercise with elliptical machine for half an hour, or maybe more. how to get it done?
how to prevent tenderness?
will i use-up more calories using elliptical machine ?
Did anybody using eclipse elliptical machine have the calories expended are about 100 for fifteen minutes. I’m facing exactly the same problem. I take 24 minutes to lose 150 calories in program setting mode. Personally i think frustated. Can there be every other interpreation from the calories or perhaps is the reading through correct. Someone help me with my doubt.

I need to lose about 25 pounds to get down to a healthy weight, and eating less just isn’t doing it for me. My wife and I are thinking about getting an elliptical trainer. We’ve heard they are great for burning calories, and aren’t as odious as treadmills, but we know almost nothing about them.
Does it matter if I get a real fancy elliptical or would a standard one like this be okay?

I have the Nordic Track Adiostrider 800 elliptical cross trainer. The display “distance” is measured in total revolutions and the “speed” is measured in revolutions/minute. The stride length is 18 inches.
If the distance says that I do 1200 total revolutions how far did I go in miles? If my speed averages 50 revolutions/minute how fast am I going in mph?

I am a female, 5’2″, and weigh 119lbs. I worked out on the elliptical trainer for 45 minutes at level 5-8 intensity. The machine said I burned 506 calories. I worked out hard, but this still seems unrealistic? Every site I go to seems to think that height is not relevant when it comes to calories burned, which I don’t understand, so I would like other opinions. Do you think 506 calories is realistic?

I have a distance category on my elliptical trainer. It go in the hundreds or thousands when used. Now can anyone tell me what measurement it may be in and how I can calculate into miles when used? Thank you.
