The suction on this vacuum cleaner is a big selling point- we vacuumed numerous types of carpet and at no time did we ever notice a loss in suction. I love how there are seven different settings depending on how thick your carpet is. I have never used a vacuum that has the option of shutting off the brushroll so you can easily clean bare floors. We vacuumed wood floors with ease with the bare floor setting. The automatic cord rewind seems like a reward for a job well done since I have always hated wrapping those darn things.
