I simply have a Garmin nuvi 205 also it states such things as “in 500 ft, turn left” rather than like “turn left at Primary Street”. What type of Gps navigation would let me know what street or intersection to show left at or turn onto? Ideally the least expensive model anybody knows since I haven’t got lots of money.

Spoken turn by turn directions, this is not on screen

Hi getting a job as a Taxi driver and looking at getting a GPS system. I have searched and scaled my search down to two brands: Tom Tom and Garmin and still undecided whcih one is better.

I’am looking at spending no more than $500 on one can someone please help me out and maybe suggest some models which would be best suited for me.

    Cheers
Is there also one with a voice reconignition feature ?

    Hi,

Which is better – the Garmin or TomTom? I know that both have better models than one another but which one do you have and like or HATE????

I do not want to spend $500.00 and up … maybe about 250.00 or more if it is proven to be a good GPS :)

I have been driving myself NUTS over this question!!! I wish my husband would have just had the GPS included in our new Edge lol.

Thank you for all the help :) I appreciate it.

By the way – I live in Canada and I would want Canadian maps and US maps.

I’ve filled the internal memory on my Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS. The limit is 500 POI. This model is supposed to be able to increase that limit by inserting an empty SD memory card into the empty side slot. I inserted a blank 2GB card. Afterward the save button was no longer grayed out, BUT the Garmin still said “memory full” when I saved a POI. Moreover, the “saved” POI doesn’t show up in my favorites. If I take out the SD card the save to favorites button stays grayed out altogether giving me no option to save?! I don’t have a computer cable not that it’d do me any good…do newer Garmin models have this problem?

So my dad has the Garmin Dezl (something like that) and he keeps saying that it takes him on bad roads etc. So he wants me to find him a new one and im like ” Well that GPS was 500 dollars and we have lifetime stuff. So getting a new one would be pointless.” So what is a good trucking GPS and what are some ways to fix my dad’s GPS
