General, the Epson Stylus NX430 is simple to setup (through either USB or Wi-Fi) and use. The primary installation is really a breeze, and also the touch-panel controls for the 2.5-inch LCD are simple to use (and uncommon on a $100 printer). Epson consists of its mature and competent Epson Scan software program, although the business appears unable to manipulate the Windows firewall so as to allow scanning to a Wi-Fi-attached Computer from the printer manage panel.

You might need to add the exception for the Epson occasion manager your self. Numerous users may by no means understand that push-scanning is an choice. Mac users should download the occasion manager software program and install it to add this capability. Push-scans through USB do not suffer from this issue.
Paper-handling functions are minimal. A rear vertical feed holds 100 sheets of paper, along with a front output tray accommodates 30 sheets. As noted earlier, there is no automatic duplexing; on the Mac, there is not even help for manual duplexing (the Computer driver provides dialog boxes that walk you via the procedure of manual duplexing). The letter/A4-size scanner lacks an automatic document feeder, and also the scanner lid telescopes about 0.5 inch–enough to deal with most magazines, but not most books. You will also discover card slots for Secure Digital and Memory Stick formats.
Sadly, the Stylus NX430‘s speed does not fairly measure as much as its print high quality. Text and monochrome graphics print at a middling 4.8 pages per minute. Pictures printed to glossy stock are especially slow: A half-page color photo prints to plain paper at an acceptable 2.85 ppm, however the exact same image prints to glossy paper at just 0.72 ppm. On the Mac platform, full-page color pictures print at only 0.28 ppm–slothful even by entry-level inkjet standards. Copies arrive in the exact same unhurried pace, but scans are reasonably quick.

I have TWO, never out of the box devices – an HP Photosmart C8180 and an Epson Stylus NX430. I’m going to give one of them to a local charity. I want to keep the one which one is the better SCANNER? Printing is a secondary concern, but are there any factors related to printing (print quality, cartridge cost, ease of use, etc.) that I should know about in making a decision between the two models as well?
Thanks for the help/advice!
I just bought an Epson Stylus NX430, and am trying to set it up with my MacBook Pro, but my computer can’t seem to locate it. I’ve inserted the disk and am at the point in set up where it wants me to add it to my cue, and I’m supposed to select it from a list of printers but its not there at all.
I’m stuck at this point, everything has gone smoothly up until now, any advice is greatly appreciated
I bought a new printer yesterday (EPSON Stylus NX430). I had a bit of difficulty setting it up. I basically just plugged it in as per usual, but it wouldn’t read the printer. ANyway, after a while, I somehow got it working.
HOWEVER, for some irritating reason, whenever the printer is on, my computer stops recognising any other USB’s/hardrives. I cannot have my hardrive or USB plugged in whilst the printer is on. It also just stopped recognising the printer again.
What do I do?!?! I’m terrible with technology and I have no one to help me!!! I need this to work as I use the printer almost daily!
