I am obtaining a Brother SE400 Embroidery machine from my boyfriend as a birthday gift. I have never done any embroidery before however i will have just a little sewing understanding under my belt. After I get my machine I must have the ability to design my very own images and cargo onto my machine. I have done some looks for software on the internet but haven’t found anything definitive. My real question is, what type of software would I want, where could I recieve it?

I would like to learn how to sew. I have absolutely no experience. I would like to purchase a sewing machine that will be okay for me as a beginner but not junk—I want to be able to grow with it without needing to buy a new one. I am very techy and liked the features of this machine: Brother SE400 http://www.amazon.com/Brother-SE400-Comp… I think it would be nice to have the option to embroider as well. My question is this: would this machine be acceptable for what I am looking to do? Also, what else do I need to buy with it? I saw the Brother Embroidery Starter Kithttp://www.amazon.com/Pacesetter-SAEPKIT… and/or Polyester Thread Sets – 40 Spools – 500M – 40 wt.http://www.amazon.com/Polyester-Embroide… HELP!

    Hi,

I just bought a Brother SE400, sewing and embroidery combo. There is no heart stitch. That is my favorite!!

I looked on line for other sewing/embroidery combo’s and it seems that is missing in the combo units. I am actually thinking of taking mine back for a regular machine with that stitch.

I guess there is no way to download a pattern to my machine is there? (Not an embroidery pattern, just stitch)

Thanks, I guess I needed to vent a little.
Yea, I was going to tomorrow. I was just mad tonight and just had to let off steam. Thanks
    EDIT:
I took it back today. Though I would have liked the embroidery, I would rather have a lot of decorative stitches, I will use them more.

It’s a shame you have to sacrifice one for the other on the multifunction machines. This was my first sewing machine, I just assumed things. I am looking for another, I will be real careful this time. Thanks for everyone’s help

I originally wanted to buy a sewing machine (embroidery) just for this purpose: the brother se400 for my HSC task. the only embroidery I wanted to do was to embroider around circle felt eyes, and wanted to know if this can be done with an ordinary sewing machine, saving me both money and time :) thanks
What stitch settings would I use?

Does this embroidery machine work with HUS, PES, and DST formats?

    For my brother se400?
Its a sewing/embroidery machine and I accidently broke 2 needles. I would like at least 10-20 of each needle but i’m not sure which sizes to get. I plan on sewing everything from satin to fleece to denim to pleather, which sizes do I get and how do I know that they are compatable with my sewing machine?

Hi, I am looking for a sewing machine that would be great for beginners as well as someone who has experience. I was looking at this one : Brother SE400 Computerized Embroidery and Sewing Machine, we would be aiming to be making shirts, as well as cosplay, steampunk, 1800 clothing , corsets and much more, I though the embroidery would be great for other crafts as well such as blankets..

Different mats that we maybe using: Leather, jeans, quilting, cotton, pleather.

If there would be a better machine please link.. hopeful one that is not 900 or more lol.
    Thank you ahead of time!
